This design is very hazardous. The little semicircular tabs you see at the side of the closed grill are part of the heating plates. When appliance is closed it’s very easy to touch those tabs and they are HOT. On first use I wanted to shove the appliance several inches sideways along the counter, and touched those tabs! Any user could accidentally touch them. They should be INSIDE the lid. They are needed only to lift out and swap the sandwich/waffle plates. Even tho’ I have no kids living with me I am tossing out this appliance in favor of a different model.
